Originally a mud track, the Bushy Park Race Track was later converted to an Asphalt surface and built for circuit racing in 1971 by sugar cane plantation workers, on what was then the Bushy Park Plantation.
In 2013 the property was closed to motorsport for major development, and was completed in March 2014 and reopened in May 2014 as a multi-purpose motor sport facility.
Bushy Park is now a full-length ‘International Circuit’ with Federation Internationale d’Automobile (FIA) Grade 3 approval, and the leading circuit racing facility in the English-speaking Caribbean, featuring a 2.2 Kilometre Circuit, Rally Cross Track, CIK Grade A Kart Circuit and eighth-of-a-mile Drag Strip.

BPMSI is a Club for members who wish to experience the competition and camaraderie of Club Racing.
The opening of the redeveloped world class Bushy Park Circuit Facility in 2014 ushers in a new era of motor sport in Barbados, and BPMSI will be the Club of choice for competitors, with a series of events organised for saloon, sports and purpose built race cars. Our regulations comprehensively cover production through to super modified Groups, for classic and modern cars.
Prefer two wheel action?
We’ve got you covered as well. Our motorcycle racing regulations are based on WERA road racing classifications. WERA is one of the oldest and largest national sanctioning bodies conducting motorcycle races at road courses across the United States. Their regulations are all inclusive and cover a wide range of motorcycle/engine types.
Does team competition & touring interest you?
If you’ve got what it takes and make the cut, you can match skills with overseas riders and drivers in the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship Series (CMRC).®
BPMSI has secured a deal with the commercial rights holder of the CMRC Series to be the organising Club of their events in Barbados. BPMSI will also be the representative Club looking after the interest of all local competitors in the Championship. The CMRC is a Series for modified production & purpose built super cars ranging from 1.6L to 4.5L and Super Bikes up to 600cc.
Competing is not your style?
If your form of adrenaline rush is just being close to the competition, you can be a volunteer. BPMSI has a place for motor sport marshals & officials. Anyone can volunteer to assist at BPMSI events. In conjunction with the ongoing BMF Training Program. the wealth of experience possessed by our senior officials & marshals will be imparted to you through specialised training and hands-on experience. All you need is to bring your enthusiasm and a desire to learn.
