The Barbados Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary offers a sophisticated and comprehensive network of educational trail-side exhibits, to compliment the beautifully designed boardwalks, aviaries and observation points. It is also a living laboratory available to scientists
If you wish you can relax with a drink or snack at our outdoor dining area, overlooking the main lake. There’re also outdoor group Pavilions for lunches, lectures, weddings, parties, and other events. The Sanctuary is a popular location for photographers, especially nature photographers. For group pictures please contact the Sanctuary in advance, to make special arrangements.
Types of Wildlife seen:
The Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary is home for up to 40 resident / seasonally resident bird species as well as a great many more migratory species. The water here is also home to a range of aquatic life. The Red and White Mangrove trees, as well as the several uncommon species of plants of the swamp, provide a natural habitat for many species of local birds, and it is a temporary home for a large number birds migrating, especially for the winter.
