HASTINGS BEACH in Barbados is made up of several sandy bays, separated by minor breaks of rocks and artificial reefs.
This attractive beach once had a shoreline of rocks and was badly eroded by the elements. It has since been redeveloped and now boasts one of the most stunning spots on the south coast.
Most of the bays at Hastings Beach have rocky bottoms, and experience fairly calm sea conditions with some undertow, close to shore, most of the year. Further out to sea tend to have choppy waters and stronger currents. However, to the northwest (right), there are a couple of almost enclosed bays with calm waters and very little rock at the bottom.
RICHARD HAYNES BOARDWALK / SOUTH COAST BOARDWALKHastings Rocks Park is the main focal point along the South Coast Boardwalk, featuring a beautifully landscaped Promenade with a bandstand, benches, and a Play-area for kids, making it great for hanging out and hosting outdoor social events. There is also a seaside bar and restaurant located here.
Along the boardwalk at Hastings beach fronts many restaurants, bars and holiday accommodations.
This spot offers an incredible ocean view with a romantic setting, and is popular with locals and visitors. It also provides many perfect photo opportunities along the boardwalk, the beach and at the esplanade.
Hastings Rock Beach can be found on the Caribbean side of the island, on the
South Coast of Barbados in the parish of Christ Church.
