Tyrol Cot Heritage Village

yrol Cot Heritage Village is the latest unique and historic site to be added to Barbados' rich collection of cultural heritage attractions. The former home of Sir Grantley Adams, first premier of the island, and of the young J.M.G.M. 'Tom' Adams, the second Prime Minister of Barbados, it is filled with the lifetime collection of the Adams' antique furniture and memorabilia. The Heritage Village is an inspired outdoor 'living museum' composed of attractive Chattel Houses, the creative folk architecture of old Barbados. Each house displays the work of a traditional craftsman or artist, who can be seen at work on-site. The traditional 'Cockspur' Rum shop serves welcome libations and time-hallowed Bajan food and snacks. This 'double site' is a must for every visitor and local who wishes to take a look into our nation's past.
