BARBADOS PERFORMING ARTS & THEATRE
Like any other country, Performing Arts in Barbados is a type art-form used by artists for artistic expression in a live performance.
In spite of the presence of a number of high quality theatre groups, Barbados still struggles to attract international acclaim. In recent years the National Cultural Foundation has been working with many institutions to enhance the quality of the teaching of performing arts on the island.
In Barbados this art form is expressed through performances of musicals, ballets, opera, pantomimes, and plays, where performers get to use their bodies and voices as an expressive tool in front of a live audience.
Some disciplines of performing arts include drama, story-telling, dance and music. Other genres and types would be spoken-word, mime, puppetry, magic and illusions.
Below you can find Performing Arts Centres and Workshops, places you can see performances by singers, actors, musicians, comedians, dancers, magicians as well as other Performing Arts & Theatre Activities in Barbados.
