ocated in a quaint little fishing village in Barbados is
Pile Bay Beach. It is a small bay usually with calm clear waters, some undertow to the south of the beach, and sealife to the north making it a good snorkeling spot, but look out for fishing boats and jet skis.
Beachfront to Pile Bay beach is one of Barbados Light and Power (BL&P) – Power Generation Stations, a small fish market and a number of fishing boats awaiting repairs. Situated directly at the north end is Freshwater Bay Apartments, and a little ways inland of the shore is a watersports operator kiosk.
Out to sea are many fishing boats and at times oil tankers, as this area is also an oil berth.
Pile bay has little activity with sea bathers, but can be lively with fishermen and other fisher folks, whether fishing along the shore, bringing in their catch from a day or night at sea, or boning and selling fish. Some evenings you might even see fisher folks roasting fish and some local breadfruit for dinner.
Pile Bay Beach can be found on the Caribbean Sea side of the island, on the
South-west Coast of Barbados in the parish of St Michael
