In Barbados, the Crop Over Cavalcades is a series of four small stage shows designed to create hype for the Crop Over Festival season throughout the island.
These community based events are locally called “The Calvacades” and officially named the Fantastic Four Cavalcades with outdoor concerts held at various locations around Barbados.
The Cavalcades feature seasoned calypso/soca artiste from the previous years, while showcasing cultural talent and upcoming performers, as well as introducing new songs for the current season.
The four cavalcades are mainly youth focused, spreading out for (4) weekends. However, there is usually one night for veterans and vintage calypso/soca.
This cultural talent showcase, also feature dance productions, and steel pan, folk and tuk music.
