The Crop Over Festival in Barbados is a national festival of culture, music and revelry, mixed with traditions and cultural elements from the past. This exciting summer festival brings to light many aspects of Bajan culture and heritage through music, art, craft, dance and costumes. Crop Over exhibitions, shows and competitions are used to showcase the skill and talent of artisans and artistes on the island, while partying, masquerading, food and alcohol consumption are very much part of the revelry and celebrating.
The spectacular Grand Kadooment Day Parade (Barbados' Carnival Day) is the high point of the festival, as well as the climax to the festivities for the crop over season.
