The Mount Gay Rum Visitors Centre is an integral part of the culture, history and the fun of the islands. As Barbados' No.1 exported Rum enjoyed in over 70 countries worldwide, we are proud to welcome guests at our centre which is located only 5 minutes from Bridgetown, overlooking the beautiful West Coast.

Tours & Tastings

Our Rw-n Tour is a feast for the senses: watch our spectacular Audio Visual presentation in the comfort of our air-conditioned "Rum Shop Theatre". Experience the wonderful scents wafting through our "Aging Cellar" which holds over 4,500 barrels of peacefully aging rum. Our friendly and knowledgeable guides will share with you the story of the world's oldest Rum. Discover the historic personalities, the expertise and the tradition involved in creating our world class rum, including refining, aging, blending and bottling. The tour lasts between 30 and 40 minutes depending on the curiosity of the visitors, and concludes at the centre where guests will be invited to indulge in a "tasting", getting tips from the expert on how to fully appreciate the high quality of the rum.

Our Visitors Centre staff has developed an incredible reputation in Barbados --- and abroad. Some of our recent visitors have made these comments: "Excellent tour, very friendly guides, incredible cocktails!" (New Jersey, May 1997)... " Fantastic tour, informative, and great fun tasting with Chester." (Canada, June 1997)... The Quarterly Review of Wines, Summer 1997 can be quoted as saying: 11 guests are invited to taste Mount Gay Rum by Chester the Bartender. Chester, whose middle name should be jester, is hysterical..."

Golden Rum ... Golden Medals

Mount Gay's Extra Old Rum is the heart of our line of fine turns. In August of 1997, Mount Gay's Extra Old was the only Rum to receive the ultimate honour of "Grand Gold" medal at thewines and Spirits competition held in Brussels, Belgium. This follows our award of Gold Medal for Mount Gay Rum in the "Selectione Mondiale de la Qualite" in 1995.

Verandah Restaurant & Souvenir Shop

Located on the verandah of the Visitors Centre, our restaurant will delight you with its spectacular views of the sea and tasty Bajan cuisine. Chill with our Master Blender's favourite, a Mount Gay and soda; or enjoy one of our many specially created cocktails which have been described as "the greatest on the island". The Mount Gay Souvenir Shop is the perfect place to pick up gifts and souvenirs of Mount Gay Rum and Barbados. Tours are offered daily, between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
